Logic Group App for Homey Pro Tips/tricks
If you have a Homey pro, you can download our new app for your Homey at this link:
https://homey.app/da-dk/app/com.logic-group/Logic-Group/
Our app is new and we are currently in the process of fixing bugs on it.
It will be continuously updated.
There will be a version 2.0 later in 2024 that will enable more features.
Currently, the following errors have been noticed and need to be fixed:
- ZIF5028, not working optimally in Homey yet.
- Matrix ZRB, works perfectly in flows with both buttons and LEDs.
To set which buttons to switch on/off the internal relays, you need to see which FW your device has - it's at the top under advanced settings. Next, select either 04 or 05 settings for the buttons.
- Multilevel associations between devices can be tricky. We have noticed that making multilevel associations as a dimmer control on Matrix ZDB and Matrix 55 EU can be challenging.
If you need to control relays on a ZRB, it works.
Only touch it if you want to switch on/off/regulate the dimmer from another Matrix.
Tips and tricks:
Matrix ZDB and ZRB:
- Use the flow map: "A scene () has been activated with ...." when you need to activate a flow from a key on the Matrix.
(Do not use: A buttom has been pressed).
- If you can't get Matrix to activate a flow, it may be because parameter 15 is set incorrectly. The first line should be set to = Yes, the rest of parameter 15 should be set to = No.
- Set parameter 10 (Enchanced LED control) to = 1 or enabled. This will give you better control of your LED RGB keys
-Set parameter 14 to the following RGB colours for correct colour reproduction on the keys. Set Blue to = 90, Green to = 90 and Red to = 255. Then the colours will be displayed correctly on the Matrix.
- SDK code, Homey asks for an SDK code when you register a new device, this code should be on the device.
If the code is worn off or removed, you can use the code = 00000 and the device will be reported as unsecure.
Starting up HomeCenter 3 - Should I choose Engine 2 or 3 in HomeCenter 3
When starting up a new HomeCenter 3 from Fibaro, you will be given the choice between using Engine 2 or Engine 3 Beta. We recommend that you choose Engine 2, as Engine 3 is still a Beta version with some bugs that can cause challenges with some of our products and 3rd party products.
If you are experiencing problems and you have selected Engine 3 Beta, reset your HomeCenter 3 and start it up in Engine 2, after which the challenges should be gone. Note that you will lose all your programming by resetting. However, this is the only option right now.

How do I switch on lights on e.g. 100% every time in MATRIX Control Panel with dimmer?
Take a look at the manual on page 27, parameter 18 (button 1) and parameters 26, 34 and 42 for buttons 2 - 4.
Here you can set the level at which this button should switch on the light.
Default is 255 in byte 2 = last level the dimmer was switched on, but you can also set it to a value between 1 and 100 = level in %
The value you need to set in parameter 18 is calculated from Byte1, 2, 3 and 4 as follows.
Byte1*256*256*256*256 + Byte2*256*256*256 + Byte3*256 + Byte4
Example. With switch on 100%
1*256*256*256 + 100*256*256 + 0*256 + 0 = 23.330.816
You can also use the calculator that can be downloaded below.
Remember it must be set for all keys that need to switch on a light source at that level.
This allows for different ignition levels for the individual keys.

Endpoints, Groups, Single and Multichannel
Single and Multichannel
Devices that only have one function must be bound as single channel (Dimmy, Wall Plug and similar) (Dimmy in particular has a firmware update that turns it into a multichannel device, which is particularly useful in Home Centre 3)
Devices with many functions must be bound as Multichannel (MATRIX Control Pushbuttons and similar)
Endpoints and Groups
In MATRIX Control button with dimmer (ZDB5100), Endpoints 1-4 correspond to buttons 1-4, Endpoint 5 is the internal dimmer. Endpoint 0 is the root device
When making associations between devices, you need to use association groups. MATRIX Control pushbutton with dimmer has 14 association groups: 1 for the root device, 3 for each button and 1 for the dimmer. For each button (1-4) there are three groups:
- Basic report: sends a report on the status of e.g. a dimmer, whether it is on, off and level. To be used in correspondence setup.
- Binary Switch Set: For relays - sends a message to switch the device on or off (MATRIX Control Push Button with Relay, MATRIX Socket, Wall Plug and similar)
- Multi-Level Switch: For dimmers - sends a message about dimmer control (MATRIX Control Pushbutton with dimmer, Dimmy dimmer and similar)
To make things a bit more complicated, there are two ways of numbering: end-to-end from 1-14 or with numbering for each Endpoint starting from 2-4 (the 1 is used by the controller to update its interface)
To associate, for example, from MATRIX Control Press to a Wall Plug, you need single channel and group 3 (or 6, 9, 12 for keys 2-4) which is Binary Switch Set, i.e. on/off command.
Help my light source for MATRIX Control button with dimmer flashes!
If your light source is flashing, try the following: start with step 1 - this works almost every time! Move on to steps 2 and 3 if the previous step doesn't work.
1 Try setting parameter 4 to value = 2
This sets the dimmer in the Matrix to low leading edge dimming.
Default is parameter 4, value = 1 which is trailing edge damping.
2 It sounds trivial - but try switching the light source off and on again.
3 Try updating the firmware in your Matrix ZDB. There is a new version that takes into account noisy 230V supply. See the FAQ How do I firmware update my devices?

To find the Firmware version in Fibaro Home Centre 3: click on the gear -> Devices -> Click the "down arrow" next to the device you want to see the firmware version for -> Version: xx
What do I do if I want to plan a smart home in my new build?
You can get a Smart Living smart home whether you build with Milton, Hybel, Lind og Risør, HusCompagniet or a completely different construction company.
The procedure is typical:
- The first dialogue goes through your construction advisor.
- You'll go through the options - for example, it's possible to book a viewing in HusCompagniet's test house at Lundbjerggaard in Vindinge near Roskilde.
- Once you have your electricity plan ready, simply send it to one of our Smart Home specialists at Logicliving@logic-group.com. They make a proposal for you, which of course can be changed until you are satisfied.
- Now we start integrating the solution into your house.
- When the house is almost completely finished, the electrician will come and install your smart home components. It takes about a couple of hours and leaves no trace, other than a smart home 😊
Which VELUX windows should I choose to get control via MATRIX Control Push?
Our current solution is designed to control all windows in the VELUX INTEGRA range.
The solution consists of our VELUX 1G and a Sensative Strip contact for the window.
With our solution, you copy the VELUX remote control to the Matrix control panel. So you can open and close the windows and you can open the ventilation damper.
It is possible to report the window directly into our solution, even if the remote control is broken or lost.
One VELUX 1G provides one control for e.g. windows or curtains. You have the option to register multiple windows on the same module from us. They will all be activated in the group when you control them from our solution.
Later on, we will have a solution where all windows can be controlled separately and you can see if the window is open (VELUX 200G).
You can also enrol curtains and other devices, such as awnings, regular curtains, as long as they run io-homecontrol.
Can my ZHC5010s work in an HC3?
Yes, but you need firmware version 1.12. Find the ZHC5010 in firmware sections and open "older firmware versions".
Similarly, the manual for version 1.12 can be downloaded from manual sections.
Help, the device status does not change in Fibaro Home Centre (e.g. ZIF5028)
Make sure you have associated endpoint 0 to group 1 in Home Centre as Multichannel.
Then the status will automatically be updated in the Home Centre.
What devices are included in a Logic Group smart home solution?
Logic Group makes integrated smart home solutions where everything is programmed from the start. This means that we have designed a solution based on an electrical plan from the customer and integrated according to the agreement.
Controller
We use a Fibaro Home Centre 3 as a controller.
Our choice of controller is based on an assessment of security, localised functionality, support for the protocol standard, compatibility with current and future Z-Wave Plus products and a number of other factors.
Devices
We have integrated the following products as standard:
- Z-Wave devices
- VELUX windows
- Curtains on Z-Wave, PowerView or io-homecontrol (the new SOMFY protocol)
- SONOS
- Philips Hue via Bridge
- IKEA Wireless via Philips Hue Bridge
- Many different IP cameras
- Google Home / Home Assistant
Are keys for MATRIX Touchpad available in colours other than white?
No, we only have white keys to allow light to pass through.
How can MATRIX Control Switches be compatible with Phillips Hue?
Our products run on Z-Wave Plus. Philips HUE components run ZigBee Light Link. How can this be compatible?
In our solutions, we use a FIBARO Home Centre 3 together with a Philips HUE Bridge. These two devices are connected via computer networks on Ethernet, either wired or wireless and via communication on IP addresses. The Home Centre 3 communicates via the HUE Bridge with the HUE devices and all devices on the Z-Wave Plus network can help control the HUE smart lights. HUE is not a complete smart home solution - it's smart light. We call this a 3rd party integration.
This means you can do without the ZigBee bridge and control the devices directly via ZigBee.
We have developed a QuickApp + a Lua scene to connect a button to a ZigBee device so it can do the same thing as a regular light source controlled by the internal dimmer.
Can I get a 1 module smart socket?
No, there is no room for electronics in a 1-module socket outlet when safety distances to live parts must be maintained.
That's why you can only get 1½ module MATRIX Sockets from Logic Group.
Do Logic Group products work with SmartThings?
Unfortunately, SmartThings is a little tricky to develop for.
Samsung has chosen to make a controller that has Z-Wave, but does not comply with the standard for a Z-Wave controller. If it did, all Z-Wave Plus devices would automatically work with it.
They have chosen to create their own way of using 'Z-Wave', which removes many of the good ideas in Z-Wave.
One of the challenges is that you have to develop drivers for all the products you want to work with their way of doing things.
As a counterpart, there are a number of controllers that are certified Z-Wave controllers, such as Fibaro Home Centre 3 (HC3), which we tend to recommend.
When a new Z-Wave Plus device is developed, you just plug it into HC3 and it works. HC3 is also backwards compatible with old Z-Wave devices.
Another challenge with SmartThings is that they don't support Associations, where the devices bind directly to each other so they can communicate without the use of WiFi or controller. This ensures that your house is less vulnerable if, for example, SmartThings or the router is down.
Unfortunately, there are a number of controllers that do what SmartThings does. Examples include Homey, Home Assistant, OpenHAB and Homeseer.
All of these require specially developed integrations, all of which do it in their own way.
With the resources we have available right now, we can't develop all of these.
That said, we have actually developed an integration with Homey and SmartThings for our Matrix series.
Homey is released, but SmartThings would not approve our driver as they had just released their new SDK.
Now we can start all over again, towards their new SDK. It's coming, but don't know when we'll be able to allocate resources to develop version 2 for SmartThings.
