How to create a new scene in Fibaro Home Centre 2
Fibaro scenes open up a lot of functionalities that cannot be set via configuration parameters alone. However, it is always more stable to establish functionalities via configuration parameters as it will work even if the controller is switched off. Scenes must be run through the controller and therefore require it to be switched on and working.
Here we show how to create a new scene and run it from a MATRIX device.
Steps:
1
In the main menu, select the item Scenes
2
In the menu on the left, click on Add Scenes/Add Scene
3
You will now be presented with three options. You can choose to create a Magic Scene, a scene with Graphic Blocke or a LUA Scene. Click on the Add to basket button for the scene you want to create.
Magic Scenes are simple scenes with one condition and one event.
Graphic Blocks opens up the possibility to have multiple conditions and multiple events, time settings and other automation. Pretty much anything is possible with this type of scene.
LUA Scenes is written in a programming language specifically designed for smart home use. The possibilities are endless, but the graphical block scenes alone can go a long way.
4
Here's an example of a simple graphic block scene that turns on the green light on button 1 when button 2 on a MATRIX control is clicked.
It is important to note that the scene here will not be recalled from this step alone, as we would rather get it from the Scene Controller as described in the next steps. However, you can easily create other types of automation, i.e. play the scene based on a time of day or an event, such as motion at a motion detector without having to do the extra steps. However, you must remember to switch on the scene as below:
5
Remember to save your artwork. Give it a meaningful name and maybe attach it to a room - it will be easier to find it again.
6
We will now call the scene from the scene controller on a MATRIX control panel by clicking on the wrench in the device list.
7
Scroll down the page until you reach a list of 16 items. Below are the first 4 items, which correspond to the four ways a scene can be activated: hold, single-click, double-click and triple-click. The number in the blue circle corresponds to the button number. Click on the + over New Reaction on the trigger function you want to use. We select double-click on button 2.
8
Now you get to create a Magic Scene from your MATRIX Scene Controller. Select the scene you want to run and press NEXT.
9
Markers Run Sceneand press again NEXT.
10
Now the selected button will light green when button 2 is double-clicked.
Note: The scene will end and the button will change back to the old colour when first activated. To create a real guest mode, follow the tutorial called "Create guest mode in Fibaro Home Centre".
